Objective

The laboratory seeks to provide services of tests to electronic and electrical household products with quality and efficiency.

 

Accreditation and Approval

Our laboratory is accredited by the Mexican Accreditation and Approval Entity, certification issued by the General Standards Direction (SE) number EE-056-027/03.

 

We offer the following services at the Valentín V. Rivero laboratory:

  • Information and technical advising:

    - Identification and applicability of the Mexican Official Standards.
    - Procedure for obtaining the certificate of compliance with the Mexican Official Standards.
    - Directory of tests laboratories.
    - Directory of Certification Bodies.
  • Technical reports of tests to products.
  • Technical counseling of the commercial marking of products.
  • Validation of reports based on the bilateral agreement of approval of test report results between CANIETI and UL.
  • Validation of reports based on the bilateral agreement of approval of test report results between CANIETI and TUV.

 

Requirements to validate test reports

 

1. Submit the test report issued by the UL o TUV laboratory accredited by the CANIETI.

2. Validation request letter (free format) addressed to the Technical Manager, Engineer Faustino Gómez González, with the following data:

- Corporate name of the requesting company.

- The company’s representative.

- Name of the product.

- Make.

- Model.

- Serial number.

- Statement of the product type: new, used, rebuilt, etc.

4. Photograph of the product.

5. Electric schemes or diagrams.

6. Marking design according to the reference standard. In its case it can be too a definitive label.

7. Operation, installation and maintenance manuals.

8. The delivery time of the report will be informed at the time of registration.

 

Test reports based on Mexican Official Standards and Mexican Standards

  • NOM-001-SCFI-1993: Safety in electronic appliances.
  • NOM-003-SCFI-2000: Safety in electrical household appliances.
  • NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-1999: Electrical household appliances.
  • NMX-J-524/1-ANCE-2000: Hand electrical tools.
  • NMX-J-508-ANCE-2003: Electrical appliances.
  • NOM-064-SCFI-2000: Lights to use indoors and outdoors.
  • NOM-016-SCFI-1993: Safety in office appliances.
  • NOM-019-SCFI-1998: Safety of data processing equipment.
  • NOM-048-SCFI-1997: Time clocks.
  • NMX-I-192-NYCE-2002: Tax verification cash registers.
  • NMX-I-011-NYCE-2003: Copying and/or duplicating machines.
  • NMX-I-163-NYCE-2003: Continuous energy electronic systems.

 

Requirements to conduct tests

 

1. Submit a physical sample per model.

2. Test request letter (free format) addressed to the Technical Manager, Engineer Faustino Gómez González, with the following data:

- Corporate name of the requesting company.

- The company’s representative.

- Name of the product.

- Make.

- Model.

- Serial number.

- Statement of the product type: new, used, rebuilt, etc.

4. The delivery time of the report will be informed at the time of registration.
